Ambiance was good although no live music. Waiter was friendly but not very attentive as he was covering many tables. Food was disappointing. We ordered Focaccia bread, which we usually enjoy with some oil and balsamic vinaigrette, but the waiter said the chef uses a special crust, which we could really taste. The coconut curry soup was bland and needed some spice. The burnt pear salad was good, but skimpy on the goat cheese and dressing. The ahi steak crust was excellent but the fish was tough and not high grade. The mahi mahi was great. The crème brûlée was supposed to be passion fruit, but had only a vanilla flavor. Overall, very disappointing for the price.

Our meal was tasty and well made. I ordered the tasting menu but the Hokkaido Scallops were not available which was disappointing. My wife’s meal was good as well but the vegetables served with the entree were under cooked. The waiter was very nice as was his assistant. We were given a surprise dessert for our anniversary which was very nice. We’ve been wowed in the past and even though the experience was good just not wowing.

The food here is always good. Service seems to be deteriorating over the past few years. Twice in the last month orders were seriously goofed up. They were fixed with apologies but still. Drinks were very slow in coming both visits in the last month (lime 20 minutes). This mirrors our experience over the past few years with each year getting slightly worse. Maybe it’s hard to find staff? Still like it but service wise Red Salt seems to be losing a step. .

The sushi was out of this world, highly recommend the dynamite roll it was 10000/10. One of the best meals my wife and I had while visiting Kauai. We also enjoyed the 14 oz ribeye, some truffle fries, and delciois cocktails (expresso martini and island breeze). Everything was FANTASTIC!!

We had a lite dinner consisting of appetizers. This gave us the opportunity to sample more items. Very tasty and nicely presented.
