Situated on the iconic Chicago River with stunning views of downtown, River Roast is a lively social house and gathering place. The menu features contemporary American tavern fare with dramatic presentations of whole roasted chicken, whole roasted fish and slow roasted beef; all carved table-side. The food is handcrafted, yet rustic, with many plates designed for sharing. The bar offers a large selection of local beer, craft cocktails, beer, and wine. With one of the best patios in Chicago, River Roast is a great place to enjoy dining outside on a hot summer afternoon or a crisp fall evening. River Roast Private Events offers six spaces, all with spectacular views, for parties from 10 to 1,000. Saturday and Sunday features our Brunch menu from 11:00AM-3PM. We are open Mon-Fri for lunch and daily for dinner.

Buffet includes Easter specials such as, Pineapple Glazed Ham with Maraschino Cherries, The Classic RR Smoked Chicken, Bourbon Brine Smoked Salmon, Spring Salad, Quinoa Salad, Cheddar Cheese and Chives Scrambled Eggs, Breakfast Potatoes, Corn Beef Hash, French Toast Bake, Carrots and Dirt, Biscuits and Country Gravy, Waffles, and an assortment of Desserts. In an enormous environment (you would never know) this place is a must ‘go to’ in Chicago. I lived here my entire life til moving to Florida three years ago. Their food is awesome. We shared pork belly and chicken goblets for appetizers-awesome. Shared the beef, whole chicken, half pork shank and Branzino for dinner with Brussels (mmm) and carrots (fabulous). Just a chill place with excellent food, relaxed vibe and great service. Beautiful location on the River too. Highly recommend this place

This was my 2nd visit. Today was even better than the first and that’s hard to believe. This was due to our server Amara who was AMAZING. Attentive, knowledgeable and just fun to be with! She is a great asset to River Roast!! We have enjoyed Octopus around the world, but this was without a doubt the best we have ever had. The Sea-bass Bresaola & charcuterie were also very good!

This is my go-to lunch place but they have got to add servers. They overbooked on St Patrick’s Day and summer interns are coming. Time to hire RR!!

Gorgeous view of the river, but service and food was not the standard I expected for the price. Definitely giving them the benefit of the doubt, since we dined on a holiday weekend.

The patio on the river was beautiful and while there’s a few tables outside, it feels peaceful and serene. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and charismatic. The octopus appetizer was so tender and delicious. All of the food was magnificent! Inside the restaurant was bustling with people and lovely decor. We will definitely be returning. I could sit on that patio all day.
