   The quality of the food and the ambience was excellent. Having a view of the greens and lake is hard to beat. Our server did a great job overall. However, we have always found the overall service to be very slow. There is quite a bit of time between ordering the food and receiving it at the table. My only complaint re the server is they never came by and checked to see if we liked our order or had any issues. Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant as the quality of the food and ambience makes it worth the effort.

   Extremely disappointed.. we booked weeks ago when getting an email that said they would have an Easter brunch on April 20 & April 21. We had no plans for April 21 so we booked for our family. We drove 40mins to arrive to the brunch not being there. We were told management decided to cancel a few days prior because they didn’t get enough reservations for that day. No one let us know, of course this was done through open table so we could have been easily reached. My kids were extremely disappointed as they had been looking forward to it. Management was on site and had no remorse when we walked in saying we had reservations for this particular event. The way we felt was “oh well” and the remark was well it’s cheaper at least. That wasn’t the point. Our waitress was very nice though & of course not her fault.

   We were here for our wedding tasting menu. The food was not great. Under seasoned and not well prepared. We had problems with ALL of the side dishes. The chicken and fish options were OK however the beef striploin We did not like. It lacked flavour and was very tough. Also there were 4 missing entree options (the Pork, Lingcod, Butternut Squash and Prime Rib). Unfortunately, there was no option to taste any of these, which for $135 per person was a disappointing surprise. As there were four of us our bill was well over $500.00. We definitely do not feel we got good value for money and left more confused about what to pick for our wedding than when we had arrived. A Menu tasting SHOULD have all items that are on offer so that choices can be made accordingly. (Especially Entrees) If Im being honest the whole experience was Disappointing and a bit worrying.

   We attended Brewmaster dinner with Old Yale Brewing that exceeded my expectations. Food was awesome and Chef explained each course and had a great approach. Beer paired well and brewmaster and staff from Old Yale joined us for dinner and shared lots about brewery and beers being served. We would attend similar event and bring friends.

   Three course dinner was too expensive for what you got, dessert was not very good at all. Everyone in our party did not eat dessert.

   We were incredibly happy with the service, food and overall experience at River’s Edge. We stayed at the Sandpiper Resort and actually had all of our meals at River’s Edge. Will definitely be returning!

   We stayed overnight at Rowena's and had my birthday dinner (for 2) at River's Edge. Our server was friendly, but a bit unprofessional, making comments about the inexperience of the bartender, but then herself pouring our $95 bottle of wine into a decanter at the bar without letting us see the bottle or taste it first. We didn't ever have our glasses topped up, we always had to do it ourselves, and we were often waiting for her while she chatted with a table of gentlemen outside. That being said, the food was fresh and delicious. The rack of lamb portion was a bit too small for the price. The view was lovely, and the owner, Betty-Ann, came over to our table to welcome us and have a quick chat, which was a nice touch. We'll be back.

    This is something everyone should experience at least once in your life. Reasonable for such an incredible meal!
