That’s the spirit of ROOST Restaurant located in the new, exciting and vibrant community of NOMA Square on Main Street in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Situated next to the Hyatt Regency Greenville, ROOST is a casual restaurant featuring the best fresh local bounty that Greenville has to offer. This was unexpectedly, an absolutely fabulous evening. From the greeting to the seating to the serving, to the dining, everything went smoothly. Alexis, our server was somebody I would like to know anytime! She is an achiever, personable, and highly professional… as well as interested in us and who we were.! And then the food…all three of us had outstanding results with the choices we had taken from a quite extensive menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and served, but there were really creative, unexpected results from the chef to make these choices exceptional. We were all so surprised and grateful. Astute Alexis, our delightful server picked up on this and invited the young chef, John to come out to visit with us. Having been experienced myself and well traveled with wonderful dining opportunities, I believe that if he does not lose this optimism and willingness to take chances on his creative but knowledgeable skills,he is going to be very well-known someday.I almost asked for an autograph! He was so personable he persuaded us to have a dessert we hadn’t planned on, and it was way beyond anything we had dreamed of. We were so thankful that we had chosen this place to celebrate the birthday of one of us. Bravo.

It took over 30 minutes to get our food and each entree was bad. Everything was drowning in sauce and the duck breast I ordered was basically all fat. I would have sent it all back but it took so long to get it. Will never eat here again.

Not my first time here, but it was not a good day. The grits were lumpy. A very limited fruit selection only cantaloupe and melon. No strawberries, blueberries, grapes etc. The desert only had 2 selections (chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies) which some of the cookies were very hard and burnt. The mimosas weren't good. My only good experience was the waitress who was very pleasant and gave excellent customer service. I'll think twice before visiting again.

Our server was fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable. I have special diet needs and he went above and beyond to meet those needs. The food was ok, nothing that exciting. Ambiance was a bit loud as one side is a sports bar setting but having said that it was still kinda cool. Might go back for the sports bar side.

Everything was absolutely perfect! Service was amazing. Food was incredible. Make sure you have the scallops. I’m so thrilled. They kept them on the menu.

Our waitress, Autumn was fantastic. We enjoyed our meal and bottle of wine was nice. Menu is not huge, but the steak was tasty. Loved sitting out on the porch facing downtown!
