Rotunda is a hidden gem with beautiful views situated in the heart of Kings Cross. A British bar, restaurant and private dining room with a large waterside terrace.

If you would like a table on the covered and heated part of the terrace, please request this when booking.

Beef and lamb is reared on our very own Northumberland farm and hung and butchered onsite. There is also an impressive selection of craft beers, wines and delicious cocktails served in the lively bar. Over the weekend, we offer a brunch menu and also a range of roast dinners on a Sunday. You can add 1.5hrs hours of bottomless prosecco to either for just £20.

Our dedication to food starts in the fields of our Corneyside Farm in Matfen, Northumberland. Born and bred on the farm, this is where we source all the Limousin X beef and Texel lamb on the menu. It is dry-aged, hung and butchered here at Kings Place.

Although the individual servers were very pleasant and professional they were badly short staffed, They appear to have over booked as we were placed in a bar area not the main dining area. It took ages to get served (30 mins from ordering to getting a drink etc etc). Twice I had to leave the table to get attention. Food was good generally though the cauliflower cheese barely had any cheese in the bechamel. If the waiter hadn’t been excellent and so obviously over-stretched I would have made a fuss about the service charge which I haven’t done in 30 years. Service like this really spoils an occasion.

Shame to arrive at a restaurant advertising mainly steak to find minimal choice, apparently the butcher supplier was on holiday! This information was drip fed as we asked for yet another choice! We were given a table near the chef so assumed we might see some action. The only action we saw was on the part of the chef agonising over spreadsheets for staff availability in the coming week! Didn't help the ambience. Staff did check out food served was ok. However, they could do with learning that rubbing their nose constantly whilst also serving food is very off-putting Expensive meal. Won't be returning.

Excellent food full of taste. The sharing tomahawk of beef was delicious. The only thing that spoiled a perfect evening was a long wait for the aperitif including being told the bar was too busy to serve. After that awkward start could not fault anything else.

Really good food and really good service. This was our first time and we weren't sure what to expect. But, wow! It was so good. We had the pre-concert menu. Short with good choices. What more could you ask for?
