It had been a few years since I last dined at Roy’s, and in the past, it was always a WOW experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visit fell short of expectations. The service left much to be desired. For example, when I tried to hand our waitress an empty appetizer plate while she took our order, she didn’t take it. The plate sat on the edge of the table for 10–15 minutes before a busser noticed it. Thankfully, the busser not only removed the plate but also realized we were missing forks and addressed the issue right away. When our food arrived, the timing of our waitress's follow-up was odd. She came over about 30 seconds to a minute later, but instead of checking how our food was, she immediately handed us the dessert menu and asked if we wanted dessert. This felt rushed and out of place.

Food and service were impeccable. This Roy’s had a more casual vibe than others we’ve been to, which was fine. The coconut mojito was delicious, and there’s very dry French Rose you can get by the glass which went perfectly with my butterfish and short rib combo. We shared lobster potstickers and shisito pepper tempura for appetizers, and they were tasty. My wife had the tiger shrimp, which was perfectly seasoned, and my daughter enjoyed the wagyu beef sliders off the keiki menu. This place is a bit pricey but it was a great experience and an easy walk from the Westin Anaheim. Highly recommended!

Roy’s is a classic. We’ve dined here many times and it’s always been great. The fish of the day was not fresh and it was overcooked. Our server took care of changing it out for the butterfish which was much better. The service was good the ambiance was ok. Needs a little update. We had a nice time and enjoyed our night out.

Celebrated our anniversary. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable about menu options. Very attentive to our needs. Her suggestion was spot on. One of the best fish dishes I've eaten! Not to mention the yummy chocolate soufflé dessert. Definitely worth the drive from S. OC to dine.
