                                                                We used to love Ruscello at Nordstrom. Our recent visit was a huge disappointment. Two of us ordered half of the mandarin salad. Usually there are lots of " goodies" in the salad. All we got on this day was a bunch of lettuce with the lettuce core pieces that, are never to be eaten, and very little else. When we saw the manager we told her of the situation. She looked put out and shrugged and mumbled something to our server. We were then brought a plate with the extra ingredients that should have been in the salad in the first place. One of the people in our party ordered the Caesar salad. Same thing... a bunch of lettuce with pieces of the core. Service was unbelievable slow and surly. We had to ask for a server to take our order. We ordered a cookie for dessert. We thought that maybe they were warming it up because it took so long to arrive. For two of us, this was our regular go to place and we really used to enjoy it. We always lucked out and had Michael for our server. We didn't get that lucky on this visit. The other two people in our group said that they will never go back. There are so many places to eat at Ridgedale. We will head someplace else in the future.

                                                                The bartender (Jilian) was terrible. She was complaining to the neighboring table that they were short staffed. However, the place wasn't quite full, and none of the other servers were having issues. Jilian only had the tables near the bar, which is normal for that restaurant. Another waitress was even helping her out. I am not sure why she couldn't handle the tables that she had. Only one person was sitting at the bar. She didn't bring appetizers until the food arrived, and didn't come to ask how things were until we were done eating. Worst service we've ever had at that restaurant.

                                                                The Beef Short-rib Grilled Cheese was amazing!! It was a special for the day but is worthy to be on the full time menu. Soooo good! The cup of Tomato soup that came with it was the perfect pairing.

                                                                We had a reservation for 12:15 and had to wait a while to be seated. There was no host, and it looked like there were only two servers in the entire restaurant. Then we waited one hour to get drinks, and food came shortly after that! The servers were sweet and did the best they could, but they admitted they were very understaffed. Our Christmas work lunch took two hours! A store manager should have intervened. There could have been someone in Nordstrom who could have helped.

                                                                Thank you for a very positive experience. We chose the turkey and avocado sandwich, which was delicious! Special thanks to our server Dede who was extremely pleasant, efficient, and made us feel very comfortable.

                                                                It seemed like the restaurant was understaffed and the servers/host/bartender were all quite stressed. It was a very disappointing lunch, we waited over 20 minutes to receive our coffee we ordered. We almost left because the service was so poor. The bartender was frazzled and came over to use complaining how busy they were (instead of "we appreciate your patience in waiting" or comp us coffee or something. One of the items we ordered never came. Then, after we paid they charged the wrong ticket (a higher amount) then our original receipt, so they had to redo our credit charge. We may not be returning after this dreadful experience.

                                                                Ruscello continues to improve and excel. While service could have been a bit speedier, attentive, this was more than made up with the food, and then attentiveness in making sure our meals were perfect. Even changing a part of the menu, providing a gluten-free option on the fly.
