Inspired by her flavorful travels, Candy DeBartolo set out to bring something different to North Tampa’s food scene: a dining destination where everything that happens around the table is considered sacred—a place where every detail matters. Together with her team of passionate experts, she opened Sacred Pepper to provide the community with new twists on classic favorites in an inviting atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients and made-from-scratch pastas and sauces highlight a Contemporary American menu with dashes of Mediterranean flair. Cocktails are inspired by cultures from around the world as well as modern, traditional, and pre-prohibition tastes.

I have been here before and absolutely loved it! I would have rated it 100 out of 10 however last night I would not. One thing that I loved about this restaurant before was the live music and the environment and I was extremely disappointed to have been sat in like a private dining room where all you could hear was the people in that room talking and barely any of the music. I let it go because I knew the food was going to be good. I ordered the lobster stuffed shrimp which were amazing as an appetizer and then my husband and I ordered our main meals. He ordered the grouper with the orzo side dish and mashed potatoes. I ordered the steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. We also got a side of the crab and corn chowder to try. The chowder was awful to say the least. We were so disappointed. There was absolutely no seasoning in it whatsoever except for a spice that we had to look back at the menu to see that it was tabasco. It either needed salt or it needed to be sweeter with more sugar. I'm saying sugar because in the description it says, "sweet and creamy". It was also a very thing chowder. My meal was amazing but my husbands grouper was not and either was the orzo pasta. The grouper was very bland and the orzo pasta tasted a little too much like pasta salad. For dessert, we did receive a free lava cake because it was our anniversary and it was the driest cake I have ever had. We also ordered the creme brulee which was okay. The star of both desserts was their home made whipped cream. That was amazing and I was extremely disappointed to see that when the waitress boxed up our food, she did NOT put it in the box. We spent $148 including tip, which is reasonable for the type and amount of food that we got however last night the taste was just lacking on so many things. I really want to think that they were just having a really bad night in the kitchen and would be willing to give this restaurant another try, but not for a while.

We celebrated our anniversary with dinner here, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the impeccable service, which truly set this place apart. The cocktails were expertly crafted, the live entertainment added a vibrant touch, and the food was absolutely top-notch. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the staff’s attention to detail. They noticed it was our special day and surprised us with a decadent dessert that was as thoughtful as it was delicious. It’s rare to find a dining experience where every aspect shines, but this establishment exceeded all expectations. A heartfelt thank you to the team for making our celebration so memorable. We can’t wait to return and relive the magic!

Great food, great service. The prices are a bit up but, that’s everywhere now a days. You get what you pay for unlike other expensive places that don’t have good food. This is a great spot.
