Spies must find the red door and pass a fun clearance test if they do not know the password required for entry. Once behind the red door, spies will find authentic espionage artifacts, pop culture references, a disappearing booth, a secret exit, and more. Super fun experience and decor. We were seated very close to the hostess station, which is close to the exit door so it was freezing cold. The food was also kind of cold when it came out. It’s a fun place. Make sure you watch the magician and go out the secret passage.

As a family with young kids we were seated at a high top table next to the bar that kept getting bumped by people going in and out. Waitress in training was unable to answer questions, was given a dirty, sticky wine glass and mediocre food. We had an awkward interaction with other families waiting for the card trick bartender to do tricks (as printed on the spy mission), not realizing he only does them for tips. Lastly no one was manning the front door to ask for the password? This place has a lot of charm and potential, but fell short during our visit.

A good restaurant concept stuck in the past. The ambiance is tired and tattered. Food was lackluster and uninspired - even for bar food. Prices were too high. Big disappointment for a Milwaukee “institution”.

The service was excellent! We ordered cheese curds as an app, and they were the best I have ever had. I ordered the Mr. Stamper Club with parmesan ranch kettle chips as my meal. The sandwich was fine, but the chips were way too salty. I only ate a few. I am pretty sure they came out of a bag, which was a disappointment. My husband and son each ordered a burger and fries, which were fine. The atmosphere is always fun at the SafeHouse. It has a lot of really cool things to look at and enjoy.
