Located at the top of the Ossington strip, Salt wine bar offers a modern progressive approach to Iberian/Canadian tapas. Salt is a bustling, cozy, communal tapas bar with great energy. Our guests enjoy artisanal cheeses, Iberian charcuterie and an excellent variety of small plate dishes. Chef Dave Kemp is strongly committed to using seasonal and local products whenever possible. Our cellar contains an extensive list of Portuguese and Spanish wines which complement each and every dish.

For 100 per person 5 courses… but what kind of courses? Appetiser for 2 people was a slice of cheese and 4 small slices of meat, for 2 people….. for 2. Giving so “much” food you can do and 7-9 courses still not enough

Always great food. Good advice on wine selection. Nice cocktail. Many of the items include sourdough bread - but there were no available alternatives for people who are gluten-free. It would be a nice option for those with food allergies to have something other than bread with their pate, tartar, charcuterie, etc. Near the end of the dinner (still only just after 9) as several diners were leaving, the music seemed to be ramped up - which seemed to be a cue for us to leave.... we couldn't really continue our conversation with the speaker above our table, so we departed. Other than that, it was another great evening @ Salt.

What a great evening with my husband. The food here never disappoints and it didn’t tonight! The servers amazing because they are there but not there, they never interrupt to ask questions but if your glass is empty they magically refill and you would not even know that they were there. Just a wonderful ambiance with excellent servers and very delicious food!

The four of us came in for dinner. Ordered a cocktail and several apps to share. Kale Salad was bright and flavourful, adding beets gave it more character. After apps we ordered several mains to share for the table. Kudos on the Octopus and Duck dishes.

We loved the look and feel of the place. Our server was knowledgeable about wines and attentive to our needs. The food wasn’t great. The mushroom gnocchi was one note and more mushroom than gnocchi. The steak tartare was too salty which killed the taste.

It had been a while since we were last at Salt and it was great to be back. Our food was amazing, lobster tacos, beef sliders and absolutely delicious duck confit. Philip selected a Douro white for us that was reasonably priced and matched perfectly with each dish. I can’t remember Salt more highly than the 5 stars, but everyone should give it a try.

Amazing food. It’s tapas so best if it’s 4 so you can order several dishes to share. The Portuguese based items ordered were all fabulous. Service is good but could be more personable. Cocktails are pricy but interesting. You need to search the wine list for value but it’s in there. Would go again.
