   My friend and I visit Manchester three/ four times a year and we always try to go SAMs restaurant at least twice. The menu is excellent and wine even better. George the head waiter is so helpful and charming. As are all the staff . It's a joy to eat there

   Having been to Sam's Chop House previously I was disappointed with my meal. I had the famous Corn Beef Hash and it wasn't as good as previously. It tasted burnt and the portion was rather small... The standard of food has been going down hill and I doubt it I will be going back for another meal.

   First time, using their August offer. It was packed and it did slow the service down somewhat but we understood. On the whole was a good experience and would recommend

   Really nice menu but we were sat a little bit too close to the bar area with football on TVs, if there could have been music in the restaurant area it may have drowned it out. All in all though the food was good and the service was very friendly and very good.

   Attend restaurant only once year whilst visiting conference in Manchester, but always find time to eat and drink at Sam's Chop House where the ambience and food take you back to the good old pub days where the beer is good and the food has an old fashioned feel. The selection on the menu is perfect - but go for the Rice Pudding at the end of the meal its a delight.

   Came here with a group of friends for a no fuss quick late lunch, staff were excellent, food very good and good value.

    The night of the England Russia game and the restaurant was empty the bar sparsely populated. We were put in a booth that has a large post adjacent the end seat and asked to be moved no problem, we could each have had our own table if we wanted. The service was good full stop. The food wasn't the steak pudding in particular was stodgy the meat dry with hardly any gravy. The pie crust was hard and slightly burnt mushy peas again dry, overall very poor. The dreaded service charge is included, its about time this unrequested tax was removed and not left to the customer to decide whether to pay it. We'll probably catch a drink in the future but definitely try elsewhere for food
