As always, everything about Sardo's was excellent! Took some friends who were visiting because I can always count on the Sardi's experience. We arrived early but they were able to accommodate us and not once did anyone push us to hurry. Service with a smile from Oliver and everyone's food, from the salads to the steak to the warm apple crumb was delicious.

First timers...wanted to show my teenaged kids NYC, Sardis got us right in an hour before our reservation, the place is quintessential NYC, caricatures of famous people on walls, waiters old school in suits, they were busy but attentive, but food was overpriced (capreses salad $24) for bland mozzarella and one small basil leaf, our dinners chicken catchitorre and burgers were very good (around $30) but our desserts were very mediocre and overpriced BUT we had a great time, kids loved it and i felt happy we tried it and went there!

I had been there before and was so pleased. This time not so good. Soup was cold with mostly broth. Burger not great. They did comp the soup.

The maitre d was very nice and sat us at a table on the lower level as we requested in Open Table when we made or reservation. The place was packed. The waiters and staff are very efficient and you tell everyone's experienced. It's old school NY service for sure. My filet mignon, mashed potatoes and asparagus were pretty good; not oh my gosh great. My problem was my wine glass was filthy. I also ordered a Kahlua neat after dinner that was clearly watered down. It was gross. Of course I returned it. I have been to Sardis a couple of times now pre-theatre. I won't be going back.
