Our style is industrial prohibition with a splash of steampunk thrown in for good measure. Find us on Queensgate and enjoy craft beers, vintage cocktails & some incredible comfort food!

Let us transport you to the speak-easy world of 1920's Chicago. Where the streets were ruled by unrelenting gangsters, and the drinks were inspired by the minds of geniuses. Scotch & Rye is our homage to the hard working, harder drinking people of that era, delivering our signature New York & Chicago inspired burgers and home-cookin', all washed down with great craft brews, unique (and award-winning) cocktail creations and a service team with an unmatched personality! We are also a dog-friendly bar! All well-behaved dogs are most welcome at Scotch & Rye.

Went for a friend’s birthday and the staff went above and beyond, particularly one lovely server (sorry didn’t catch your name! She had glasses) who helped organize a cake for our friend and gave her free birthday shots. Such a great service and a lovely atmosphere. Great cocktails too. Thank you!

Food was good although a little bit pricey for portion size. Staff welcoming and friendly. Cocktails nice. Only gripe was being asked twice if needed more drinks when we clearing hadn’t finished what we had?!

Quality food and drink, the staff friendly and knowledgeable on the selection of beers available. Excellent selection of cocktails, highly recommend and child friendly.

The bar/restaurant itself is cosy and welcoming, and the space works well with ambient lighting and background music. We received a pleasant welcome, and all the wait staff were friendly. We didn't have to wait long before someone took a drinks order, and they arrived promptly and tasted good (can definitely recommend the cocktails - and they have 25% off some of them, all day every day!) The food let everything down slightly. I ordered the 'Hilly Cheesesteak' and it was really bland and disappointing. The fries were good, as were the side of onion rings. My partner got a cheeseburger, and made the same comments re lack of flavour and being a bit underwhelming. We were in Inverness for the weekend, arriving late on the Friday night, so were grateful for a place like Scoth and Rye being open later and serving food - they got the points back for that, the relaxed atmosphere, and the service. I wouldn't recommend going for the food, but I'd go back for drinks.

My mum and I went into Scotch & Rye and both immediately said we would come again, but would need to save up some we could try all of the cocktails. The staff were friendly and we didn't feel rushed into ordering, the food was out of the kitchen quickly and was so tasty just talking about it is making my mouth water! I would recommend going to Scotch & Rye to anyone. The only downside is that there is no disabled toilets but other than that everything was amazing.
