The Scott’s story began in 1976, with the opening of a simple gracious seafood dinner house in the Marina District of San Francisco. Its phenomenal success led to the opening of a new establishment in the heart of down town San Jose. From the moment it opened, Scott’s captured the best of a growing tradition presenting the finest seafood classically prepared in light, crisp, friendly surroundings.

Scott’s Seafood has been a San Jose tradition for over 40 years, with an emphasis on sustainable, healthy food options. Scott’s Seafood has won the People’s Choice Award for its Boston Style Clam Chowder several years running, reaffirming the consideration that goes in to crafting each meal.

Many of our staff members have been with the company for decades, and even have roots to the original Scott’s in San Francisco. Our culinary crew led by Executive Chef Alfonso Tamayo follows the same traditions & qualities established by the Original Scott’s.

We had a lovely window table in a restaurant that was festively decorated for the holidays. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. I had the blackened salmon and scampi with asparagus and whipped potatoes. I do wish they had a more extensive wine by the glass list, but they probably prefer that you purchase a bottle. There are not many fine dining options in downtown San Jose so I’m glad that Scott’s has been able to stay in business.

Service was really great. The crab cakes were cooked perfectly but were mushy and bland. I couldn’t taste any crab flavor. The Caesar salad was so-so, too crunchy and the lettuce was too pale green, almost white and dressing had no punch. The mixed salad that came with the crab cakes was really good. The sea bass was cooked fine but, again, bland and uninspired. Mashed potatoes with the fish were really good. The atmosphere with white table cloths is nice and comfortable to have conversations.

It’s was an Anniversary dinner. They were very accommodating to give us the perfect table. Service was spot on and food was outstanding. Differently a must if you are in the area.

the thanksgiving buffet was poorly presented in foil trays, no labels, and insufficient choices. for 95.00 per person we expected something more than what seemed like Costco purchased, reheated food. the salad tasted like it was straight out of a bag. then, to top it off, they added a 5% restaurant surcharge to the bill (what the heck is that for?). Won't go for thanksgiving again, but will be back for their normal seafood fare.

Went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and they sat us in the back of the restaurant filled with screaming kids. The restaurant was so loud and no ambiance. The server brought water and moldy and stale bread. The waiter did not ever come and greet us. We could not order even a drink and decided to leave and spend our evening at a different restaurant. So very disappointed. Wanted to try this restaurant since we never have been here before. Now we will never come back.
