Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery, helmed by San Antonio Chef Jeff Balfour, brings a modern take on Texas' cross-cultural cuisine to Pearl. Influenced by the coastal classics of Chef Balfour's upbringing in Galveston married with the comfort of southern cuisine, Southerleigh boasts a curated, seasonally shifting menu that reflects Chef Jeff Balfour's innovative craftsmanship. Southerleigh houses a custom-manufactured brewery designed by Portland Kettle Works and brings brewing back to Pearl offering 15 different beers on tap. Southerleigh is located at 136 East Grayson, Suite 120, on the ground floor in the historic Pearl brewhouse.

    Server was phenomenal, answered any and all questions we could think of and just made us feel welcomed! Ambiance was great, building and decor was beautiful. The fish throats were amazing but our fried chicken entree and carrots didn’t live up to the hype. They were good but not OMG good like we’ve been told. Overall it was a nice experience and we’re glad we got a reservation!

    Southerleigh at the Pearl offers a unique dining experience with a great mix of Southern comfort and Texas flair. Being a former brewery, the ambiance is unique, making it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions. The food is delicious, with standout dishes like their seafood and Southern-inspired offerings, perfectly complemented by a diverse drink menu. The snapper throats, although kinda weird looking, were incredible. Mary, our server, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable meal. Thanks so much Mary! Highly recommend!

    My husband and I went here for Valentine’s day after reserving a spot about 2 weeks earlier. Absolutely spectacular service and the food and drinks were great. Best crab mac n cheese I’ve ever had, and the ambience was perfect in the dim lighting, similar to Hotel Emma vibes and style. Would definitely recommend for any special occasion!

    Everything from the food, the service and the ambience was great! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to come down to the Pearl for a lunch or dinner!

    We had an excellent waitress! The special raspberry oysters were divine. I had the carrot ginger soup…. It was creamy and well balanced . The Calamari was over breaded (I think) and the curry dipping sauce did not pair well. Ordered the fried chicken which was well made, seasoned and juicy and tastes great! However the fire sauce that it was paired with felt ‘disconnected’ from the overall flavor of the chicken. I was too full to try their desserts! I would come back.

    This place is great! Servers are extremely attentive and do a great job describing all the dishes. Side portions are huge and well worth it!
