   Finding the Spice Merchant restaurant was a bit of a challenge as it has changed it's name to Dost. So a mystery challenge thrown in to the evening as well as a meal! Very nice modern decor, with a canteen feel. Food was really good with many dishes very different from the usual. My starter of pieces of fish in crispy, spicy batter was utterly delicious, as was the spiced potato dish my fellow diners had. Mains were equally tasty, some familiar, some new. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant was a bit empty, only three tables filled on a Saturday night. Perhaps letting diners know about the name change might have helped this. Despite that, a good feel to the restaurant and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

   Visited on a quiet Bank Holiday evening - only 2 other customers in the restaurant. The food was very good - the starters were enormous - which meant that we took some of the mains home in a doggy bag - not a bad thing, at all, as it was still very tasty the following day! The service was very good with some nice humorous banter too - which we enjoyed. Prices are a little higher than you would expect to pay in your average high street curry house, but then again, the food is also above average. The decor is contemporary and quite nice, but the waiter advised that they are going to have a bit of a make-over soon, which should make it even nicer. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I shall be returning soon.

   We had a lovely meal at Spice Merchant in Uxbridge. As always the staff were wonderful and the food delicious.

   Nice resturant, but of hte 3 dishes only 2 were up to scratch. We ordered a lamb madras and if tasted as though the spices were not fully cooked, slightly powdery

   Went to Uxbridge Spice Merchant (Masala) on Saturday with 3 friends and had a great time; amazing food, the best in the area I think, and attentive service. Beer is a little bit expensive at £3.25 for a 330ml bottle. And only other slight downpoint is the ladies' loos which is cramped and where the lock doesn't work!

   Spice Merchant in Uxbridge last night was excellent. Very friendly service, great food, well seasoned and spiced so you could still taste all the ingredients! Will definitely return.

    Attended for valentines day. No problem booking, plenty of spaces. Service was very attentive albeit a bit slow at times, nevertheless we felt unrushed. Food was excellent although a little expensive. Good wine selection. Restaurant seemed a little shabby, could do with a lick of paint. Would definately reccomend and go again.
