This was a special "sending off to college" for grandson who lives for beef and bacon. We were seated next to a family of 5 little kids who obviously had spent too much time in a car that day. Not what we were expecting from a nice steak house but it is in a hotel, so don't expect a high end experience. I ordered the tomato and mozzarella salad and prime rib sandwich. Salad was awful! This is prime tomato season in St. Louis-ripe,beautiful red and delicious. I don't know where Stoney River bought this tomato but it was tasteless, hard and nothing but core. To our servers credit, she said she couldn't believe they served this and took it off our bill. But I would never have served this to a guest, so where was the chef when this left the kitchen? Sandwich was good but more bread than beef. Fortunately, the screaming kids left before our entree arrived and grandson's steak was "really good" but this restaurant won't be on our list of must revisit.

Made dinner reservation with husband and daughter as a ‘last dinner out’ before we move her into college. We love the food here and it’s one of our ‘special occasion’ go to’s. Service and food were spectacular no surprise. I’ve said before and will say it again.... need more lighting. Way too dark in the dining room. On this particular occasion we were sat next to a party of about 6-8 at a round table. It would have been fine except for the small child, a boy, that was very loud and disruptive. Family did NOT control the situation either. Many shrill screams and outbursts. Our child was never allowed to behave that way in public. We would have removed her. Although it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault, made our dinner less than pleasant.

So happy we chose Stoney River to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was perfect.

Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis. The staff/service and the food are incredible. It's keeps getting more crowded, so I highly suggest making a reservation. I called it a hidden gem before, now I think it's just a gem based on how crowded it can be. That's a good thing...we need restaurants to stay open in the West County area!

Check in station was a little chaotic and slow to manage reservations but once seated the rest of the night was great. We had a warm and personable server and our meal and wine was wonderful.

Excellent service by the waitstaff. The food was delicious. We always enjoy the whiskey shrimp appetizer. Our entrees were amazing too. Wonderful dining experience!
