Sushi Ran is a longstanding Japanese restaurant located in Sausalito, California that specializes in sushi. The restaurant prepares menu items utilizing fresh fish delivered from Tokyo daily and features a casual, family friendly dining atmosphere.

Sushi Ran serves lunch and dinner daily and features an extensive menu offering of moriawase, maki, nigri and sashimi, vegetables, soup, cool plates and hot plates. Cool and hot plate options at the restaurant include Hokkaido scallop crudo, miso Wagyu beef, big eye tuna tartare, asari clam, braised beef tongue and organic chicken. This was our fifth time going to SR and we have always loved it. The quality of fish wasn’t great and certainly not with the price. We also ordered edamame, which wasn’t good either. We ordered the pork belly - it was overcooked and the bon choy that accompanied it was absolutely hammered. It feels like poor management….

One of the best sushi restaurants in the Bay Area with exceptional food quality and service. Omakaze is fantastic and sashimi and nigiri specials of the day are always great.

Excellent service. Lunch time so little noise. Sat in enclosed tent on sidewalk with heater. A bit drafty on the feet but otherwise toasty. The only critical comment is that the change of dishes - cheap difficult to use stuff instead of the fine authentic Japanese ware that enhanced the quality of the experience. Very noticeable.

Simply the broadest most approachable and creative menu in Bay Area Japanese dining. After 40 plus years, the restaurant only gets better. Skip the overpriced omikase in San Francisco and dwell on the many flavors at Sushi Ran. Also, Yoshi has assembled the area's best sake list and is highly knowledgable.

We love this place! My wife says it’s the best sushi anywhere in the area and she even enjoyed it more than the sushi we got recently in Japan! Expensive but terrific!

We have the best luck with servers here - always so knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. As per usual, all food choices were excellent. Lychee martinis are always a bonus!

We love sushi Ran! It’s our favorite Japanese restaurant in Marin. The quality is fresh. There are a lot of options for our little kids who are foodies - they even eat Ikura! The miso cod is one of our favorite items on the menu. The scallop roll is our favorite roll. Yoshi san (the owner) offers fun and unique premium sales from Japan! He knows where each bottle is from and changes the same menu seasonally. We love coming here to unwind after a long day of work or for a celebration!
