   Spent 54.00 on an Uber to the restaurant so we could enjoy cocktails with dinner. Had to put a 50.00 deposit down to make the reservation for two people. After ordering drinks and sitting for 15 min with no drinks or even water the waitress came out and said they ran out of gas so no hot food would be served. Not even an apology from the server only a “there is nothing I can do”

   Both the food and service was amazing. We had dynamite shrimp, brussel sprouts, flat iron steak, shrimp and grits and wedge salad. Enough to share on all around for 4 people. Beautiful sunset views.

   The server was very attentive and personable. Our appetizers were good, particularly the Brussel sprouts. Our entrees were not good at all, the scallops were severely overcooked and too salty to eat. The flank steak was extremely bland and the mashed potatoes with it were unseasoned and had large chunks of potato that were not cooked long enough before the mashing process. Admittedly, we did not tell the server, though the plates were barely touched. I worked F&B for 20 years and don’t want anything comped. The food has gone down hill over the last few years which is sad because we really used to love this place.

   Food was good but the chaos at the hostess stand almost made us leave. People were clearly frustrated. Need to manage that better.

   It was my first visit to Tavern and Table. Loved the interior of the restaurant, looking out onto Shem Creek. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our waiter was a delight!

   This is one of my favorite places in CHS! They did change their menu and got rid of my favorite dish. I always get the same thing, so it threw me off. I love the environment, location, and overall experience! Not sure if I’ll be back anytime soon because I don’t have a favorite meal there now. Highly recommend though!

   Arrived to a delightful hostess staff. Our waitress was more than friendly she was genuinely excited to serve our grandchildren and made them feel awesome. Loved the shrimp and grits. Food was fresh and tasty. Soft drinks were refilled without asking. Bathrooms were clean. We will be back!! The Callahans.

   Well, it was crazy. Everybody was celebrating Saint Patty‘s day so to be expected we did learn that we enjoy brunch better than we do. Dinner and parking was crazy. Had to pay $14 extra just to find a parking spot that was frustrating but we love it and will be back.

   The food is always enjoyable, and the service is always spot on. I had the Poke Bowl today as a change of pace and it was delicious.

    Tavern & Table on Shem Creek never disappoints! The food is consistently amazing—our favorites include the blue cheese wedge salad, the blue crab dip, and the whole fish, which is always fresh, light, and satisfying. The burger is also a standout—you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Beyond the food, the service was truly exceptional. Our server was incredibly patient and welcoming. We were catching up with friends from out of town and got so wrapped up in conversation that we completely forgot to check the menu. Instead of rushing us, our server reassured us to take our time and enjoy the evening, which made us feel right at home. That kind of hospitality is exactly why we love Charleston—and why our friends are now considering moving here! The ambiance is great, and we usually love sitting on the indoor patio, but with our group of seven, we were seated in the main dining room this time. While it wasn’t our first choice (we had requested the patio), the overall atmosphere was still enjoyable. If there’s one thing that could make Tavern & Table even better, it would be designated golf cart parking for us locals. We tend to park where we can, but having dedicated spots—like Saltwater Cowboys does—would be divine and really check all the boxes for the ultimate Shem Creek experience. Between the fantastic food, excellent service, and prime location, Tavern & Table remains one of our top Charleston spots. Can’t beat the value, can’t beat the experience—highly recommend!
