Situated on London’s Gresham Street, close to the Museum of London, The Anthologist bar and deli restaurant provides the ideal antidote to the stresses and noise of the city. Boasting a thoroughly modern design in an airy loft space, complete with exposed ducting, high stools and long canteen style tables, low hanging industrial inspired lighting, pressed tin ceilings and curved wood bar, The Anthologist is eclectic and quirky without an ounce of pretentiousness. Unashamed in its claim to ‘have it all’, here at The Anthologist your every wish is granted – ranging from a perfectly brewed morning coffee to a deli-fresh quick-fire lunch, from a hand-blended almost healthy cocktail to a delish dinner at the Chef’s Table. The overall experience was good but my Guest, who arrived a little before me, was told my confirmed reservation could not be found which was embarrassing for me. I registered my disappointment on arrival & did get an apology.

Love the restaurant and ambience/setting of this restaurant and the service is great. The value is decent as well. I’m just not sure the chicken burger was as good as I would have expected it to be hence why nit 5 stars. I will still go again though.

Good location near Bank station. Comfortable seating and quiet ambience - great for business discussions. Nice alcohol-free cocktails and small plates. But shockingly dreadful main! The Goan Curry with chicken had been microwaved to destruction: the chicken was rock hard and very dry. The naan bread instead of being soft was very stiff cardboard. When mentioned to the waitress, she promised to tell the cook. Took payment in full, and nothing more was said. Clearly no concerns about whether we would come back (we won’t!) A mouse was running around below a nearby table. I don’t think he would have liked my food!

Food was tasty and service was good - not too intrusive but attentive. Didn’t take too long to arrive - had the herb crusted cod which was gorgeous
