The Blue Fish Restaurant and Oyster Bar is located historic Avondale, one of Jacksonville's most prestigious neighborhoods. Just minutes from downtown Jacksonville, we offer the freshest selections of seafood in creative recipes, including a large variety of specialty oysters, great steaks, fresh catch, and nightly specials. Light plate options available for the smaller appetite. Jacksonville's best Happy Hour 3-6:30pm daily. Al fresco dining available on our patios.. Our wine list is quite affordable with over 60 wines by the glass. We have two full bars with a late-night upstairs club. We are upscale casual and perfect for business or casual dinners, with friends, family or date night. Full banquet facilities available including private dining rooms that seat up to 70.

I’ve a longtime customer of Blue Fish & always very satisfied but today the restaurant has really shown its age. Our table had 2 broken chairs & the existing chairs pretty wobbly (table next to the window). I was disappointed in my fish tacos, I have never been disappointed in my meals, but today the black beans were either over cooked or reheated numerous times, very dry & not hot. I had to really check the taco for the fish. This is a local favorite establishment, a go to with friends. I hope this is a one time mishap.

We did not get waited on until 20 minutes after we had arrived. I did have reservations for standard dining asked to be in courtyard. They did help me with getting us in the courtyard. However they did not start service till 25 minutes or more after we sat.

I was so disappointed by this visit to Blue Fish. My raw oysters were poorly presented with very melted ice and the lemon swimming in the dirty water. My companion’s steamed oysters were lukewarm at best. Our oyster po boys had four measly oysters, which weren’t even warm. Perhaps we should not have visited during lunch, but I was so uninspired by the visit that I am unsure if a fourth visit is warranted.

The service was fabulous. The food was just ok. We ordered the sea bass and it needed more flavor. But overall experience was good.

Our first ever eating out in a holiday. Appreciate everyone working in a holiday but not as good as regular menu. Lamb was overcooked, Caesar salad was bland and salmon cakes were dry. Thai shrimp and scallops were good.

Tough to be trapped in the back garden room with three small shrieking children…. None of the other diners back there were particularly delighted but so it goes. Perhaps a carpeted floor to reduce the noise level? Food was fantastic and Zac was a great server.

Our server Christina was great! The appetizers were good however the main dish the seafood pasta with crab cake didn’t have a lot of flavor and the noodles were too big for the dish and cold. We’ve tried this restaurant so many times. I think this was the last for me
