Enjoy the stunning floral display gardens, plus the restaurant's historic surroundings and contemporary, fresh local foods. Located in the original Butchart family residence, you can experience spectacular views of the Private Garden, the Italian Garden and Tod Inlet. Indulge in Afternoon Tea in our Spring and Summer seasons, or our High Tea which offers more warm savories from October through the winter months. Dinner is served seasonally with a strong presence of local sustainable ingredients. Choose from our award winning showcase of Vancouver Island wines. Enjoy adding to your awareness and appreciation of local grapes and vintners. Please note that admission to The Butchart Gardens is required in order to access The Dining Room Restaurant.                               It was nice loved the music loved the tea loved the snacks. Garden was beautiful. High tea was great although if you came just for high tea it’s costing you 65 admission and 55 for the high tea so for a couple you’re looking at twice that ! Worth the experience

                              We had afternoon tea in the dining room at Butchart Gardens on Family Day Monday and found the experience to be quite lovely. We were warmly greeted by the host who checked us in, took our coats and after a very short wait we were seated by our server at a wonderful table by a window looking out onto the garden. The room was bright, impeccably clean and had all the hushed serenity one would expect in the garden setting… I felt the music could have been a touch louder as it was barely audible and might have offered a bit of ambiance and privacy. Our server was friendly, very pleasant and she explained our tea options and guided us through the service. We opted for the « sparkling tea for two » which featured a half-bottle of BC sparkling wine, and we thought the wine added a bit of a celebratory note to our experience. The first course was a bright and light lemon trifle, and was followed by the three-tier tea sandwich and pastry tower and of course the loose-leaf tea ( the rose tea was amazing!) The tower looked elegant, and was very generously filled with fresh and delicious small bites. Some were served warm, others were chilled and all were distinctly flavoured and well balanced, perfect for pairing with the tea offerings. We found the whole experience to be absolutely wonderful and left feeling fully satiated and thoroughly satisfied.

                              Wow! Excellent tea, scrumptious sandwiches and desserts and a wonderful ambience. Elizabeth was attentive and extremely professional. High Tea is a must do if you are at the Butchart Gardens.

                              Wonderful ambiance, food, and service. Background music was too loud for the setting and made conversation less pleasant than it ought to have been.

                              It’s a lovely atmosphere which is most of what the experience is about. The high tea was tasty and enjoyable for what it is: very small portions of typical high tea food. It is quite expensive for what it is but I think everyone knows that. The flight of Prosecco, blackberry wine and cider was a nice treat.
