The Captain Digby, a family friendly restaurant and bar which caters for all ages & occasions, with sea views overlooking Kingsgate Bay. We serve generously portioned fresh, home cooked food from our bar, restaurant & children's menu. Food is served from 12 noon each day, all day until late check our operating hours before arrival.
Choose from our family dining area, close to our indoor play area or our cliff top restaurant with sea views.
Alfresco dining is available with 40 benches overlooking the bay but these are non-reservable and work on a first come first served basis. Please note we can not guarantee window tables. We do not allow dogs inside our venue but they are welcome in our outside dining areas. Being so close to the shoreline we tend to have issues regarding internet connections and advise all customers also bring cash as an alternative payment.

Lovely meal as always...its our go to for a good Sunday roast! Never leave there hungry!

My friend sat on a very wobbly chair, which we replaced-hope it was removed from use. Food was quite nice with good sized portions. The staff were attentive, but at times it felt a bit intrusive-having a conversation and the waitress loudly pops up to ask us questions, interrupting us on a few occasions. I do not like being asked if everything is OK when we haven't had a chance to try the food

It was very very busy very noisy food was ok fish and chips fish was very small minted lamb steak was very tough, overall not very good

Lovely place food normally outstanding but forgot our peppercorn for steak and gge steak was really chewy which spoiled 1 of our dinners staff friendly but no sense of humour not bad value for money

Staff were brilliant food was lovely and we really enjoyed the ambiance in there we have been before and again was lovely and obviously will be going again in the near future

The booking of the lunch was very easy. We arrived early, which was okay, and were well received by the staff. It looked as though it was going to be a busy lunchtime, and it was! However, the staff coped well, and always had a smile on their faces. The generous roast beef lunches were swiftly delivered, with a good selection of vegetables. We were impressed! Did we enjoy the meals? Well, the clean plates demonstrated we might have done! 😁 Thank you, we’ll be back.
