The Carriage House Restaurant at Houmas House and Gardens offers a more casual dining experience in one of the most beautiful Dining Rooms in America. Whether dining at our 40 foot long grand dining room table, or an intimate table for two, our style is Comfortable and Southern. Our menu is a collection of Classic Southern Dishes, with twists to make them our very own.

Guided tours last one hour, and begin on the hour. Ticket price for tour is $24 per person, and cocktails are allowed to be taken on the tour, so visit the Turtle Bar and take a drink along.

                                            Honestly, our food arrived cold. I ordered the redfish with crabmeat, but it was at room temperature. My husband ordered the pork chop, and it arrived at room temperature as well. When you order anything, they do not offer any side dishes, as in a salad, or any vegetables. So we paid $42. Dollars for my redfish with crabmeat, and $33. For a boundin stuffed pork chop and both were served at room temp. I would not recommend this place! We brought our whole family and spent nearly $400. Everyone else’s food was okay.

                                            We dined at the Carriage House. We sampled the gumbo and crab cakes which were out of this world. I had the Eggplant Napoleon and my daughter had the Red Fish. Can't wait to go back to have it again. The house, gardens and food were way over the top.

                                            The experience is ALWAYS top notch The ‘Day After Turkey’ soup was delicious next time back just a tad off the salt but I didn’t let that stop me from cleaning the bowl. Question for Chef why did you remove brussel sprouts as an option for a side?!?! 🤔🥺🥴That was one of the best

                                            This was our third trip to The Carriage House, and as always, the food and service were excellent. I started with the Bisque of Curried Pumpkin, Crawfish and Corn, and finished with the Eggplant Napoleon. Both were as good as I remembered. Can't wait to come back!
