The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s.
Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. Outdoor patio dining and fireside dining are available in season.
The restaurant offers lunch and dinner daily, as well as a special breakfast/lunch a la carte menu offered on Saturdays from 11 am to 4pm. Sunday 11am to 3 pm.

These include weddings, birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, retirement parties, class reunions, school functions, memorials, and nearly any type of private event. Corporate meeting spaces are also available. All of the private spaces open out to a private deck or patio. The Hunt Room has a rustic decor with a private pub and dance floor, and features a private entrance. The seasonally tented Hunt Patio is also available for social and corporate events; it is surrounded by rolling lawns and flower gardens with a gazebo.

The place is run down. The servers are untrained. The food is poor. The place is like a diner with lots of families with small children. The place’s overwhelming priority is wedding events, and it is very obvious to all others.

It was our first time dining at the Grain House and we were very pleased. We were offered lunch and brunch menus, and it was difficult to choose because everything looked amazing !We chose brunch entrees, and paired them with a mimosa flight which was recommended by our wonderful waiter, Lance. The restaurant is very charming . Looking forward to returning!

I met friends there for dinner and we ate outside on the patio. It was a perfect way to end a busy week relaxing with friends on a beautiful evening. Our server Laura was attentive and personable. We will definitely be back.

My lunch was awful. Service was less than average. Had to ask for a glass of ice two times. My sandwich was terrible. Had to ask for dessert menus and coffee. Not a very good experience
