   Excellent food served in a lovely inn with more than adequate space between tables so we could hear each other talk. Charming places like the Ivy Inn are in short supply in Northern Virginia so were we happy to experience this gracious dining experience. We enjoyed the trout, shrimp and grits, and sticky toffee pudding cake. Looking forward to a return.

   Tuna appetizer, gnocchi Bolognese and lamb chops were all excellent. The feta & fig dip not so much. We didn’t even finish it. The biggest disappointment for us was the drinks. Pours were extremely light. My espresso martini should not be categorized as a martini and my husband’s Tito’s martini was maybe half a shot. See pictures. We said something but were told that’s the way it is. 2 drinks were not worth $30. Have drinks elsewhere before or after arrival.

   Terrific food. We had their mini biscuits with ham, shrimp and grits, gnocchi, and Rockfish. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was professional and low key, and the ambiance is homey. We shared the sticky toffee pudding with cappuccino kahlua ice cream for dessert and it was amazing! This would be my favorite restaurant if I lived here.

   We have enjoyed dining at this very popular restaurant for many years. Vegetarian options are unique and delicious (recommend asking about chef creations which may not be listed on the menu). Staff is well informed, pleasant and accommodating without being intrusive. Reservations a must.

   This is our favorite fine dining establishment! That’s why we celebrated my wife’s birthday at The Ivy Inn. First class. The food is perfect as is the waitstaff.
