Perched directly above Lake Bonavista with large glass windows overlooking the lake, The Lake House is home to one of Calgary’s finest and most creative restaurants as well as a unique setting for weddings and events.

The Lake House features Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts‘ (CRMR’s) renowned and distinctive Rocky Mountain Cuisine. This is interpreted and presented by Chef Gareth Colville. Chef Colville and his team excel at showcasing the regional flavor of Western Canada. Our locally inspired menus are complimented by a diverse wine list offering global selections authored by acclaimed sommelier Brad Royale.

Had a wonderful evening with friends to celebrate the Christmas season. Had a fabulous time with awesome martinis, outstanding food and service. Hats off to Frank for his service and entertainment. He definitely earned his tip. We might have to make this a regular evening out. Definitely 5 plus star rating.

First time visiting and it was most enjoyed. Wonderfully attentive staff who pay attention to all of the details. Food was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful.

We had both the oxtail pasta appetizer and sadly it was not good at all. There was no flavour in the pasta or the purée. It was seriously lacking flavour and the pasta was kind of hard. My mom’s lamb was okay but she said it had a strange flavour. My rib eye was very yummy, the potatoes were a bit lacking in flavour as well but the steak was great. The dessert wasn’t the best either sadly. The cake was very dense and not fluffy and light. It was super noisy but that was understandable because it was close to Christmas and was very busy. The service was excellent tho. That was the best part of the night. The oysters were very good, that and the service were the highlight of my night. My mom didn’t eat most of her appetizer, I was so yummy that I ate all of mine but I didn’t really like it. I think maybe it was an off night for the kitchen.

Consistently excellent food at a reasonable price for the quality and the best ambience. Noise level not bad for conversation. Attentive service and friendly front staff.

Our server Darcy was great, the food was great as well. It was quite noisy (busy due to preChristmas dinners?), and as it was evening and dark outside, it felt a little dark at our table near the exterior glass. They happily allowed us to relocate as we were there before the rush, and had a reservation.
