Welcome to The Market Place, Asheville's culinary gem nestled in the heart of downtown! Led by Chef William Dissen, our restaurant celebrates the vibrant flavors of the region with a menu featuring locally sourced ingredients from within a 100-mile radius of Asheville. We're proud to have been named a semi-finalist for the prestigious James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant. Join us for dinner beginning at 5 pm where you can enjoy our delicious dishes alongside a local beer or a handmade cocktail.

Due to the unpredictable weather in the mountains, patio tables cannot be reserved.

One of the best meals I’ve had here in Asheville. Great restaurant for date night. Get the French onion soup as an appetizer. Service was fantastic

The Market Place was spectacular. Incredible food and service, this place always delivers. The seasonal cocktail and mocktail list is so creative and everything was so yummy.

The food was excellent, everything was farm to table and everyone around us was raving about their dishes. The menu is small but everything we had was excellent, including the cauliflower appetizer, the burger with truffle fries, the tagliatelle, and the affogato. A casual environment, and at first it didn’t look to be very crowded because most tables were seated in the back, but truly excellent. Would definitely return next time we’re in Asheville.

Very nice restaurant. Menu was limited and for a Saturday night during the holidays, it was sadly nearly empty, but given what this area has experienced the last few months, it’s understandable. My steak burger and truffle fries were fabulous and our waiter was very attentive. I hope this restaurant can pull though this tough year and see a bright future ahead. #Ashevillestong!!!

The restaurant was just reopening after Hurricane Helene with a limited menu, but the food and service were wonderful.

Love the Market Place - we had fabulous cocktails, shrimp and grits, tagliatelle, and salads. Wonderful wine to complement. First rate service in a beautiful space. Seven of us enjoyed being at a lovely round table. Always a treat, this was an early Asheville foodie spot that never disappoints!

Had a lovely dinner. It was only their 2nd day being open post-Hurricane and absolutely no glitches. We had the cheese board which was well-curated and featured their outstanding housemade pimento cheese as well as 2 other local cheeses. The shrimp and grits entree was delectable. Our booth by the Christmas tree was cozy. It was a wonderful evening.

The Market Place was an extraordinary experience. Everything was over the top great. So thankful for this fulfilling experience just prior to the evacuation sprint the next day! Our hearts go out to all who have been adversely affected by Helene

The restaurant was very empty and we were offered a table by the waiter stand. We asked to change. While at dinner the restaurant called me to see if we were coming. Very disorganized. Tge food snd service however was great.

The food service and ambiance was lovely. My husband had the pork chop which was seasoned very well and was deliciously tender. I had the agnolotti with ricotta and fresh corn. It was a Lovely succulent combination. You don’t see agnolotti on very many menus so I was excited to order it. Everything seemed home made ( the pasta, the sourdough bread) and we enjoyed every bite. The restaurant itself is smallish but there’s plenty of privacy and quiet. It’s wonderful to find a restaurant where you actually hear your dining companion. Bravo!
