   A beautiful place to eat at this old schoolhouse. Greeted with enthusiasm but told where to go to the bar rather than being shown. Unusually having to walk through the restaurant to the bar. Admittedly it was midweek with only a couple of single residents having their evening meal so lacked an ambience. After having drinks and ordering at the bar we were shown to our table right by the open fireplace. The food was exceptional, the steak and venison cooked to perfection with a varied dish of vegetables. We were disappointed with a cheeseboard although not on the menu the chef could only produce two cheeses. All in all a very nice meal and a good way to celebrate a special event.

   I eaten here before and the food was okay, thought at the time the chef may be having a bad day. I had a beer in the bar before dinner. The bottle recommended 'best served slightly chilled' if I'm honest I've had cooler cups of tea, exceptionally warm and for £5.00 I think they could do better The food is very hit and miss, I had one of the worst starters I have ever had, it was very unpleasant, but the main was okay. Anyway, that aside this is a very attractive building and the waiting staff are very good. Just think it's time to replace the chef?

   A few hours before we were due to arrive I'll booking was cancelled for no apparent reason I would definitely recommend that people avoid this place at all costs

   This was the first time we had been to the restaurant and it was a very pleasurable dining experience - we will probably go there again and we would recommend it to other people.

   We will certainly look forward to our next visit. Sitting outside will hopefully be an option. We prompt service, but then we were the only two in the dinning room.

   Lovely, very lovely. The service was perfect and the food as well. Cannot fault anything. The restaurant was quiet, really surprised it wasn't busy on a Saturday night, maybe as it is a little tucked away. Beautiful location, beautiful building and lovely views. Would definitely recommend. I said to my husband if I could describe this restaurant in one word it would be 'homely' and I mean that as a massive compliment. We will definitely be going back.

   I had dinner at The Schoolhouse which is located in a lovely building. I selected it based on the 3 course menu. As stated, it is a lovely building with a charming dining room, although it was not busy at all when I got there. Only 2 tables were occupied and I was offered a table in the bar where there was no one, I asked to be relocated into the dining room. I started with the duck pate which was delightful and also a lovely portion. I followed with the rare rump of lamb with a bordelaise sauce and fresh vegetables. I should have asked for the sauce on the side as all items were covered in sauce which overpowered the delightful flavor of the vegetables. The rump was not rare but I was rather late eating so perhaps the rare was gone. Finished with a crème brulee and coffee. All in all a nice meal.

   The restaurant was quite for a Saturday night, but the host was superb and the food delicious! I cannot fault the service and welcome received. Well worth a visit.

    This week is Dutch week so there is a wonderful selection of Dutch dishes to choose from. The kale and potato mash with sausage and bacon is a must!!
