The Standard at The Smith House may very well be the best example of local Nashville flavor and service. The Standard Restaurant has been in operation since 2006 serving upscale Southern specialties complete with a full-service bar. Our townhouse was built in the 1840's and we are honored to be the current stewards of this fascinating work of architecture. We are located in the heart of Downtown Nashville, just blocks from the new Music City Convention Center and the famous Lower Broadway entertainment district. We are proud to offer some of the best steaks in town as well as fresh seafood and other items.

Our beautiful courtyard bar area is available with a dinner reservation for drinks before or after dinner.

Such an amazing experience! Everything was 5 star. Our server was David and he was phenomenal. The tartar was the best we’ve ever tried. The history lesson of the building was so interesting and memorable. I’ll be telling everyone making the trip to Nashville to make a stop here to eat.

Very unique building. Lane is a friendly and accomidating bartender. Food is good. Will go back.

Always fantastic. All of the wait staff are really kind, knowledgeable, and proficient. We had steak tartare, lobster dip, the standard filet, Caesar salad, crab bisque, peach cobbler, a skillet cookie, and the chocolate mousse. All of it was fantastic with the group favorites being the tartare, the cobbler, and the bisque. I literally cannot come to The Standard without getting the crab bisque. 10/10 We bring all our friends here.

This was my second trip to The Standard and it was outstanding! The food and service were top notch and we loved the unique experience of dining in the building. The history and ambience were excellent. I highly recommend The Standard at the Smith House!

The Standard was an amazing experience, between the incredible space, the great staff and manager giving us a tour of the location. I had no idea that it was a large, gorgeous and historical as it was! Food was on point! Lobster dip was so delicious, The Standard Filet was amazing and then we were celebrating my son's birthday so he got a complimentary Skillet Cookie that was so yummy! I have already suggested this place to friends of mine. It is a must! And make sure to get a tour and learn all about the historical townhouse.

The Standard thrives on the experience. We arrived early and spent some time at the bar sitting by the fireplace on a very cold January night. Exactly what was needed at the time. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and can prepare any drink. Service at the table was flawless, courteous and enjoyable. The food was amazing! Steaks prepared exactly to temperature and the side (specifically the potatoes) were delicious. Five stars and can’t wait to go back!

Everything about The Standard at the Smith House is fabulous! The ambiance, the lighting, the people, the food - all great. The swordfish was cooked to perfection and was so good. The special apple pie for dessert was the best ever!
