The Standard at The Smith House may very well be the best example of local Nashville flavor and service. The Standard Restaurant has been in operation since 2006 serving upscale Southern specialties complete with a full-service bar. Our townhouse was built in the 1840's and we are honored to be the current stewards of this fascinating work of architecture. We are located in the heart of Downtown Nashville, just blocks from the new Music City Convention Center and the famous Lower Broadway entertainment district. We are proud to offer some of the best steaks in town as well as fresh seafood and other items.

Our beautiful courtyard bar area is available with a dinner reservation for drinks before or after dinner.

                                                        We were a bit disappointed with the evening. The food and the experience were both very average. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my husband had an 8 ounce steak. The asparagus was the best part of the meal. The cocktails were also very average. We would not return.

                                                        Absolutely beautiful place! If you’ve driven around Nashville you’ve probably not even noticed it. The last townhouse with original structure and history in downtown Nashville. Pricey but worth it. Perfect place for taking special out of town guests!

                                                        We had an amazing experience. The staff gave top notch service and was very polite. We would go back in a heart beat. Absolutely a wonderful experience and evening.

                                                        Beautiful history townhouse. I recommend using the valet parking as it is downtown. Business casual. A bit dark in areas with multilevel floors. Food and service are good. On the higher end of the scale. Lovely evening:)

                                                        The Standard at the Smith House is an absolute treasure in Nashville! The historic charm of the building creates a one-of-a-kind ambiance, but what truly sets this place apart is the impeccable service. The wait staff is always attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, ensuring every visit is memorable. On my last visit, I had their signature dish, The Standard—an incredibly tender filet cooked to perfection. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and paired perfectly with their standout side: the corn on the cob. I don’t know what magic they use, but it’s hands down the best corn I’ve ever tasted! Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself, The Standard never fails to deliver an exceptional dining experience. It’s hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Nashville!
