The impressive accolades of Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year and Best Gastropub, are richly deserved for the White Hart. Set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and offers one of the finest foodie dining experiences in the county. Housed in a stunning 15th century chantry, customers can choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall, up high in the minstrel's gallery, in the cosy bar by the fire or on the beautiful patio terrace.
With a passion for provenance, the kitchen sources food from the very best local suppliers and grow much of their own fruit and vegetables. Mark even fishes for his own crayfish and trout from the local reservoir! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - with the signature slow roasted pork belly, with foot long crackling, being a favourite.

                                                              Excellence on all levels. The menu selection is varied and interesting, the option for a 2 or 3 course set lunch offers great dishes and really good value. The food is beautifully cooked and presented, showing real care. The warm welcome from the owners and staff is genuine. Service is attentive, knowledgeable and discreet. We really can't fault The White Hart, and now consider it to be our favourite eating spot.

                                                              Lovely food, well prepared in a beautiful traditional setting. The service was great, attentive without being too much. We will be visiting again.

                                                              We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and although we'd been allocated a table upstairs, this was swiftly changed to one downstairs as soon as my walking sticks were observed. Service was friendly, very efficient and not intrusive. The food was simply brilliant. we all had the slow roasted belly of pork. Beautifully presented and such wonderful flavours I can't wait to go back again. Can't recommend the White Hart too highly.

                                                              First time I have been to the White Hart in many years, and I had forgotten just how special this place is. The building of course is totally unique in historical terms, and is beautifully presented, even in these mad health and safety days. The ambience is pure magic - warm and welcoming, non-intrusive but carefully chosen background music. Staff were all incredibly welcoming and once we were eating, didn't keep coming to ask "how is everything?" which really annoys me in some places. Food was 5* excellent - I am vegetarian and could not fault my Main. Two teenage kids had steak and they were very happy with theirs, which is quite unusual (either over or under done, but not here). My wife had the house G&T, and I had the house breads, both of which were amazing. Main complaint - no room for dessert! Keep it up, and we'll be back very soon!
