We are The Wilmington - known locally as 'The Wilmo'

We’ve have had a bit of a face lift recently, not everything is new - if you’ve visited us in the past, you may remember us for having the best Sunday Roast in town. We can happily confirm that it’s back…but arguably, even better!

Head chef Jamie Cousins has taken the reigns, delivering an ever-evolving menu of globally-influenced dishes that celebrate the best of British ingredients as well as some very exciting specials. You can join us for brunch, lunch or dinner as well as that glorious Sunday Roast - come try it for yourself!

    posto eccellente dove abbiamo potuto degustare un ottimo sunday-roast. da segnalare che oltre a ritrovare la classica atmosfera del pub inglese, c'è un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo

    Great gastropub, near Exmouth Market. Lovely Sunday roast, and good choice of wines. Very friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere in the pub.

    An excellent place to eat great service, buzzy atmosphere and the dining area was not noisy — bliss. Food delicious and wine very good. I took friends over from Australia before going to Sadlers Wells all worked perfectly. Thank you.

    Excellent food in a busy gastropub. Fascinating to be able to watch the chefs at work in the kitchen.

    Great local pub with good beer and great food. The service was a little slow but that was because there were less staff on duty. The servers themselves were great.

    Unfortunately, we had a pretty disappointing experience. The venue itself is quite average and didn’t live up to the expectations we had for a more unique gastropub experience. Rather commercial and average. We had to return a truly terrible starter, and then the behavior of one of the staff completely soured the atmosphere of our dinner. We were seated next to the ordering station, which wasn’t ideal as our two very young kids were naturally moving around a bit and occasionally obstructing the servers. To make things easier for everyone, we politely asked to be moved to a nearby table that had just been freed up. Unfortunately, our request was met with a rude and passive-aggressive response from the waiter. It was clear that he was tired and overwhelmed, but this doesn’t excuse such behavior toward guests who are simply trying to find a solution that works for everyone. People working in public-facing roles need to maintain professionalism, even on tough days, or take a break when needed to avoid situations like this.

    We loved this warm and charming neighborhood restaurant. It was recommended by a friend who travels to London often. The food was great, the staff could not have been more friendly. It was out of the touristy area of the city and we Felt safe and relaxed. Highly recommend 😊 cheers 🍻
