Toku’s cuisine is predominantly Japanese with influences from China, Korea, and South East Asia. Ingredients and cooking techniques throughout the world create the Modern Asian menu. Owners Gillis and George Poll have dined all over the world, and have come across a variety of dishes that have really impressed them, “the best of the best.” According to Gillis, “We put together our favorites and added our own unique twists to them.” George emphasizes the menu’s ease and variety. “It’s a straightforward, casually written menu which allows you to dine any way that you’d like.” Guests may enjoy traditional meals with an appetizer, entree and dessert, or dine exclusively on sushi. Others can order cocktails and a table full of appetizers and skewers to share. “The menu is set up for sharing,” he confirms. Anything goes when ordering at Toku.

Our entire facility provides room for up to 150 who wish to enjoy a sit-down function and up to 250 for cocktails. Larger outdoor cocktail parties can be done with the additional cost of a tent.

For religious purposes i wear a headgear to cover my hair. Being obvious here, i am visibly brown man and sport facial hair to represent my sikh faith. I was told I would not be able to sit if I did not remove my hat. I tried to briefly explain that it doesn’t matter which medium I use to cover my head, I just have to do it. Today, I did not have time to prepare so I came out and used a clean hat to cover my head. They informed me that, regardless of my explanation I would not be able to sit at the restaurant. I attempted to discuss with the manager, the fact that I was not trying to be disrespectful, but I would not be willing to remove my headgear, and they did not accept the explanation so we were not able to sit. I am astonished that not only were the incoming Uber and delivery drivers all wearing hats because it was a cold day, but also there was a dog that walked in and out of the restaurant. It’s acceptable for a dog to sit and eat, but not for me because I’m wearing headgear that has to do with un negotiable, religious terms? Even as a paying customer in a luxury restaurant, I was very surprised that there was no exception. Manager Illoinie straight up told me, remove your hat, very rude tone.

I have been going to Toku for years and my visit last night was a big disappointment. From start to finish everything was off. The drink I usually get didn’t taste the same. We ordered dumplings and they were all stuck together. We ordered lamb ribs, and there was no meat It was all fat. I had asked the waitress if she could sub,the sides on my dish and she said it was okay, but I don’t really think she understood what I was asking for because I was charged for the eggplant . The bokchoy that came with our meals had no flavor or seasoning. This use to be one of my favorite spots but unfortunately we will not be going back .

Dishes that are inventive, without being silly or pretentious. Try the Peking duck salad. The salads are a full meal.
