Not sure if the restaurant understood that I had booked on Open Table. The food and service were excellent. Wish they had outdoor seating.

I love this place and my family does to. We've been coming here for years. Margaritas are perfect and the food... you just have to try for yourself. Great place, Food, and service.

We had our annual girls get together here. We were there for over 5 hours talking, eating and drinking and no one ever rushed us out or bothered us. They were attentive from a far. It was a great experience. The food was excellent and the service exceptional.

I ordered the baked fish, and I wasn't blown away or surprised by anything of it. I was expecting it to be tender, and taste the herbs and lemon. Instead it was more dried out. Not worth the money at all. The plantain chips with dipping sauce were great. But other than that don't expect to get anything special. Its just all ok...and thats it nothing more.

Wow. At first glance, my wife asked if we should eat somewhere else. Thankfully, we decided to stay. The food was amazing. Amazing. Go here and enjoy. Service was good also.

Tropical Sensation, a Caribbean-themed restaurant on upper Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan, more than exceeded our expectations, with very tasty Caribbean selections, good service and a pleasant, neighborhood atmosphere. Try the paella, served for two but easily, three or four people could eat this wonderful seafood concoction with delicious yellow rice. Also try the tender Ropa Vieja, served with a huge mound of yucca. Terrific empanadas and fried meat croquettes; in fact, we could have ordered one order of each (instead of two). Tropical Sensation has a nice wine and beer list and good sangria, too. Go for the fun atmosphere, the neighborhood feel and the excellent food - a nice surprise.

This was an amazing find. It was quick. Great food, good service. Not happy that the waiters and waitress were not fluent in english as well as spanish. Overall 3.75/4 stars.
