Ristorante Villa Francesca, in the North End of Boston, Massachusetts, is the brain child of Guglielmo Ranauro. Through his desire for perfection and pure love of the Italian cuisine, Guglielmo created Villa Francesca over thirty years ago. He bestowed the name Francesca after his mother, never forgetting the love and wonderful food she always provided while growing up just across the street from the restaurant. Villa Francesca boasts over 160 wine selections, and has received the prestigious Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator awards since 2007. You've got to try the raw bar!

                                                                                                                                        It's a charming restaurant with a pretty decent menu, and it seemed most of the prices of the items were comparable to other North End restaurants. My only disappointment was the cost of my meal, which was one of the "specials" (so, it wasn't listed on the menu, therefore I didn't know in advance what it would cost, so i guess I should have asked) - pasta with mushrooms, brandy, and cheese. They whip it all together next to your table after lighting the brandy on fire and dumping it into a huge hollowed out cheese wheel. It's a cool thing to watch at least. The flavors were delicious, but I noticed after about 5 minutes the pasta had gone cold, but I managed to eat about half of it. When the bill came around, I was astonished to see that just that dish cost $48. It didn't include any protein, just pasta, mushrooms and cheese. Again, I guess I should have asked before ordering it, but never in my wildest dreams did I think pasta would cost almost $50 😵‍💫

So cute and cozy for a little last minute Christmas dinner with friends. The food, wine and service were incredible. Will definitely come back and will be a favorite of ours. A good go to spot if you want to get off Hanover Street.

Our meals were delicious and the service was superb. Being an out of towner, I would highly recommended Villa Francesca.

                                                                                                                                        everything is delicious!! i ordered carbonara with chicken and tiramisu for dessert. every single bite was delicious - this was my second time visiting as I live in VA and travel to Boston for work every 6 months or so. My only issue is the seating is very tight and the table next to us were very close - it felt like you couldn't have a private conversation.

                                                                                                                                        This restaurant was the perfect evening dining in the North End. Although the seating was cozy and a tad snug, it was also fun and friendly. We had impeccable service and outstanding food. It was all around a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend dining at this top-notch establishment.
