Unfortunately this restaurant was not able to handle the volume of New Year’s Eve. They were severely understaffed-it took an hour to get our cocktails and two hours for our entrée. Our server continued to let us know they were running behind, but at no point did a manager or the owner who was there come up to each table to apologize in person. No effort on the restaurant’s end to provide a token of hospitality, which was disappointing. The food was good and we would try again, but not on a major holiday.

This is one of those dining experiences where it is hard to know where to even start with a review. Suffice it to say both the service and the food were bitter disappointments. I could write a novel but I’m just going to deliver this rapid fire: - Waitress was completely unfamiliar with menu - They tried to bring entrees to table before salads and then seem confused as to why this was an issue - wine bottle ordered was wrong year and came at a $50 premium compared to menu price - Ordered sides that arrived 15 minutes after entree - Fries taste like a poor version of oreida frozen - Service was slow, sommelier was absent - beet salad was so tasteless we did not eat it - No ambiance in their side rooms, feels like a hospital dining room I’m not sure how this place is in business when literally everything is done so poorly. Avoid this place!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING IN THIS SHOOTING GALLERY. White Oak had a broken window that they chose to replace around 6:30 PM on New Years Eve. No one - not the appointment confirmation phone call, nor our server, nor the manager, nor the owner (who was sitting at the table across from us) - told us about this broken window until they started breaking out the glass. This repair process that lasted 1.5 of the 2 hours we spent there. When we arrived at 6:15 PM and the restaurant was mostly empty (there were maybe 6? tables occupied at that time), they chose to seat us two tables away from where this was happening. After the first course of the NYE prix fixe menu, and before the second course, workers proceeded to break out (glass shattering, power tools, etc.) the window and start to board it up. Needless to say, my wife did not enjoy it. But, being from out of town and having reserved a table, we did not know of any other options. I guess we should have left when other people did? Because we watched other tables complain and receive some sort of consideration OR other tables be seated and choose to leave. But no one spoke to us about the issue, at all. We watched at the owner and his wife spoke to other tables, as our server scrambled to do her best, and as the manager(s) - a man in a blue suit with brown shoes and a woman in a dress with blonde hair - accommodated other tables... but not us. We were on our fourth course when someone finally spoke to us about the issue. The female manager did and told us "there was a drive-through shooting yesterday at 5 PM." When we got our bill - totaling $375 for 2 prix fixe dinners and 1 wine pairing, I asked our server for consideration. She took the bill to the manager. The manager billed us for something that the server missed, then took $60 off of the total. When I asked why they did not let people know, the manager told us it happened that day (oh, cool, so different than what she said before...). 10/10food,0/10manager.

We had a great experience as we have each time we have dined at WOKC. We had a wonderful conversation with one of the owners. We very much appreciated him taking the time to learn more about the customers. The food was excellent as always. We were very happy to experience the French dishes on the menu.

Fantastic experience! Delicious food, wonderful service and stunning decor. Felt like we were transported to Paris with sophisticated French atmosphere and lovely music was a bonus
