Yoshi's has served Japan's best traditional dishes to Bay Area patrons since 1972. The menu highlights artfully arranged sushi, fresh grilled seafood, classic Japanese dishes, and vegetarian fare. Patrons can kick off their shoes in the traditional Japanese tatami seating or dine at tables. Expert sushi chefs create sushi and sashimi to order either in the restaurant or in the jazz house. Start the evening in the cocktail lounge before dinner or have a nightcap after taking in a show in the jazz house.

    We haven’t been to Yoshi’s in a while, we wanted to go have a nice dinner but found the quality of the food lacking. The calamari rings we very small, I’ve never seen such small rings before, which is why it seemed like it was mostly batter and chewy which usually means frozen. The California roll and the Fire roll were both lacking flavor and the avocado was dark, we almost sent both back.during the email we have two different servers introduce themselves as our servers and they were both pleasant but we never saw a manager around. We expected better.

    We made a reservation for NYE, where they were offering a pre-fixe 4-course meal. The portion sizes were great—better than just "good" (yay!). However, the food itself was only okay. I'll skip the first three courses and just say they were decent. For the main course, I had the pan-seared sea bass with string beans, and the sea bass was delicious. My partner ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots, and honestly, it was something I could’ve easily made at home. It wasn’t anything special. Overall, we were expecting more given the $176 price per person and the automatic 22% tip added to the bill, especially for just two people. At that price, we thought they could have at least included a glass of champagne or wine. Our server was friendly and funny, but we did have to wait about 10-15 minutes before he came to take our order. This wasn’t our first time at Yoshi’s—we’ve dined here a couple of times and even watched a show. We’ll definitely come back for sushi, but we’re unlikely to return for the pre-fixe menu.

    Went for New Year’s spent $500 for two people. The food was not worth it. Service was great but sorry not worth the value.

    We arrived early for our reservation @ 6:30 and were sat quickly and our server Summer was wonderful. But after the 3 rd course it became extremely slow to get our main dinner which was very delicious but unfortunately we ran out of time and we had to take our desserts to go into the show room . We finally got seated in the showroom just as Boney James was playing his first Song. For 145$ per person + 22% gratuity it was a bit steep. Might need to rethink a 406$ dinner bill Food was ample and delicious BUT poor Summer had too many tables. Overall all evening was a 4 star

    The food was expensive and the steak was tough and short ribs was stringy so both was not cooked very well.

    Awesome night. Food was delicious! All wait staff were timely, friendly and there to make sure we had our best experience. Entertainment was amazing (Boney James). A great way to ring in the New Year!!

    I absolutely love Yoshi’s it’s simply to crammed up with to many people in such a small area. Way too crowded. The servers were having difficulty getting access to the customers and the seating in the auditorium was the same way. Yoshi needs a larger place to accommodate the popularity of the artist that entertain there.

    I had the pleasure of dinning with Kenneth. He was very attentive and fast. The restaurant was crowded but he made us feel very important. The food was excellent and the show was great thank you Yoshi’s so great experience.
