A contemporary take on the classic oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal.

Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Our menu consists of regional seafood prepared in a variety of styles: Charbroiled Oysters and Shrimp Remoulade share the stage with classic seafood towers and Oysters Rockefeller. A rotating selection of larger plates features items such as Black Cod Almondine and Blackened Swordfish Belly.

To drink, Strange Delight updates old classics, serving both a Hurricane and Ramos Gin Fizz service for 2, alongside Martinis and Sazeracs. Our wine and beer lists feature our favorite American producers.

Please note:
We offer 3 distinct types of reservations:
Regular: a table in our back dining room
Bar: seats at our back dining room bar
High-top: a higher table with bar stools in our front room with an open kitchen and oyster counter.

The best New Orleans restaurant in town. I eat the oysters and feel like I’m at Galatoire.

Our favorite restaurant right now. The food is always delicious from the oysters (both raw and charbroiled) to the shrimp and fried oyster loafs, to the entrees. Wine selection is excellent as well. Service is always great and friendly.

Service was excellent! Our server was VERY thoughtful and attentive. She had great recommendations. Would definite come back and try other items on the menu!

I had a lovely time celebrating my birthday with family here. Beautiful interior, comfortable seating, and good music. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was delish on top of it all! Will definitely be back :)

Second time here and we absolutely love this place! Smoked fish dip, grilled oysters, fried oysters basket, broccoli salad and bread pudding.

Omg the food was delish!!! Everything we had was amazing. Food came out quickly. Drinks were also well made. Definitely recommend reservations.
